RE: Dress Guidelines
Customer service is a key initiative at the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System.
How we communicate to our customers is very important. Proper communication
begins with our appearance - we must be well groomed and dress in a manner that is
appropriate to a business environment.
Recently, we have noticed a substantial deterioration in dress
throughout the Library
System; as a result, we are compelled at this time to establish dress guidelines.
Because of our public interactions, you will note these guidelines do not include any
casual/dress down days.
Employees are expected to comply with these dress guidelines at all times. We
realize there may be occasions where professional attire may not be appropriate and
you will be provided acceptable dress guidelines by your supervisor for those
occasions as they occur.
Anyone who appears at work inappropriately dressed will be directed to leave and
return to work in proper professional attire. Time spent away form work for these
purposes will be charged against available leave time. Repeated violations of the
dress guidelines may result in disciplinary action in accordance with Fulton County
Personnel Regulations, Article 11 - Insubordination.
If you have questions about the appropriateness of a particular garment, please
consult with your immediate supervisor.
We look forward to displaying a positive, inviting work environment.
We will inspect what we expect!
