The content of AFPLWATCH has been reorganized so readers can find more of
the newest material on the site without scrolling or jumping down through
the older stuff.
The older material is still being retained for reference and for new
readers unfamiliar with AFPL's predicament, but much of the
McClure/Hooker/Garnes/Earl-era material has been optimistically relegated
to a section of the site called "History Lessons"--including (we hope not
prematurely) the sections of AFPLWATCH devoted exclusively to the
deliberations of the library system's trustees.
As before, readers should use the site's Table of
Contents and/or its archives to
most easily find something in particular, especially if the reader is
trying to re-locate something that appeared on the site long ago.
Another change effective today: postings to the site's increasingly
blog-like "LibraryLand" section were previously archived approximately one
month after they first appeared. Now they will be archived one week
after they're posted. That change will make the site load faster, especially
for readers who access AFPLWATCH through a dial-up connection.
Readers' suggestions for further tweaking the site to make AFPLWATCH easier to
navigate are welcomed.
