  • Another Online Resource for Getting Quickie Overviews of Various Internet Apps

    Our colleagues in education find it just as difficult to Keep Up as librarians do, and one of the things some of them have done to make Keeping Up easier is a website called Educause.

    One of the site's handiest tools for library workers is a feature called 7 Things: very short overviews of the whys and wherefores of various well-established or emerging Internet-based phenomena. So if you don't know the difference between, say Flikr and a wiki, this would be a good place to start your education (especially if you're short on time - and who isn't?).

HowManyofMe.com, based on U.S. Census data, will tell you just how many such people there are. Who would've thought, for example, that there are 103 people named John Szabo out there in the United States?
