Dear Friends:

I wanted to write to make you aware that I am in receipt of your October 1, 2003 correspondence requesting my assistance in the investigation of Atlanta Fulton County Library Director Mary Kaye Hooker.

My office has been in communication with Mr. Keith Caldwell, Deputy County Manager, and has been advised that the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, in an effort to seek resolution to your concerns, has hired the law firm of Elarbee, Thompson, Sapp and Wilson to engage a full investigation into the matter.

Because I've been advised that this investigation is in progress, the Justice Department will need to include the report of the law firm's findings prior to becoming involved. I understand your concerns in this matter and will be happy to do what I can to assist you if the final report merits additional investigation.

Again, thanks for contacting me and I wish you well in your endeavors.

Sincerely,

Johny Isakson
Member of Congress
